Speaking to radio DZMM, passenger Ernest Desabal said he and his girlfriend checked in their luggage at the Jetstar check-in counter at 3:30 p.m. last Saturday, two hours before their flight to Singapore.
When they arrived in Singapore, he said he was surprised that the lock on his luggage had already been removed. "Tanggal ho yung lock," he said.
He earlier told radio DZMM that he lost both a Nikon DLSR and a phone inside his luggage.
Desabal said he had to cut short his trip and return to the Philippines four days earlier to report the incident to airport police.
He said he also discovered why airport authorities cannot say if the theft was done by baggage handlers in the Philippines.
