In a Facebook post by Jeum Justine from Maasin Southern Leyte, the netizen lambasted the Liberal Party bet for being hypocrite or “EPAL,” a Tagalog slang derived from the Filipino term “papel” or “pumapel” which means one who likes to always be in the scene or be given attention in things that don’t concern them.
The netizen sees nothing wrong eating in the public market. In fact, way back in his college days, he was a regular patron in the eateries located in the public market.
But the netizen sees Mar Roxas’ action as pure ‘epal’ and ‘hypocrisy.’
“Don’t tell me, eating at the public market (Maasin City) is more comfortable than eating in “Kinamot sa Abgao,” one of the popular restaurants in Maasin City owned by ‘Oging?’ Roger ‘Oging’ Gaviola Mercado is the Governor of Southern Leyte.
To stress his point, the netizen asked a hypothetical question from fellow netizens. “If you are hosting a VIP from Manila, and you know there is a cozy restaurant in your city, don’t tell me you will bring your VIP visitor to the public market to eat?” the netizen laughed!
